View other featured artists

Jack Dykinga spent decades exploring the back country of Arizona, photographing the landscape in unique weather, fleeting conditions, and monumental moments. Dykinga gathered the best of his photographs and combined them into a truly monumental book documenting his home state. Each photograph provides a sense of discovery akin to hiking a long trail and finding something new and altogether wonderous at each turn.

With 144 pages of illustrations and a forward by Nonfiction Author Charles Bowden, this book provokes new wonder at the beauty pulsating within the southwestern state. Anyone who has been to Arizona, lives in Arizona, or finds solace in the landscape of the desert Southwest will treasure this book.

Dykinga has two exhibitions scheduled, which feature images from this book - one at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, Arizona; and another this spring at Mountain Light Gallery in Bishop, California. Visit his website for dates and more information on the exhibitions, as well as information on upcoming booksignings.
