Still,
that's exactly what I'm doing now, month in, month out. I'm doing it because
quite simply both I and the people who buy my work want to have the best
possible prints, and West Coast Imaging is producing the finest, most
detailed and accurate prints from my transparencies I've ever seen. I
brief them just like a local printer; I see a proof and have the opportunity
to get adjustments made to the final print in whatever detail I choose;
and I have confidence that it will turn out right. Far away doesn't have
to mean remote.

If
anyone had suggested to me a couple of years ago that I'd be getting most
of my prints produced
by an organisation 6000 miles away, by people I've never met, and with
whom I've never even spoken on the telephone, I'd have considered them
to have taken leave of their senses.
