"The
entire staff at West Coast Imaging is courteous, knowledgeable and
efficient. The Tango Drum Scans are
superb, as well as the prints they produce. Every aspect of doing
business with them has truly been a pleasure. Rich has definitely
put together a "Dream Team" that I can highly recommend, in every aspect."

Nelcha
Cross’s
love for photography began at a very early age when she picked up a copy
of Arizona Highways magazine and simply knew, "That’s what I
want to do!" Her annual family summer vacation in the beauty and majesty
of the Eastern Sierras, combined with growing up next door to a large floral
nursery in Southern California (Steven’s Nursery), encouraged her
nascent appreciation and love of the best Mother Nature had to offer.
However,
like many others who are truly artists at heart, early adulthood was
defined by earning a living and exploring life’s many opportunities –
but she always had her camera nearby, and managed to slip away to photographic
classes and seminars with various Masters of the craft. While continuing
to learn, she took photographic vacations to Eastern & Western Europe
and elsewhere. She kept her eye sharp photographing her love of nature,
Jazz Jubilees (JBBO- Jazz Band Ball Orchestra) and the occasional wedding.
"I
photograph because I must," Nelcha says in her artist's statement.
"Numerous times during my life I have tried to ignore Natures’
call (like the Sirens) and have found that Mother Nature exacts a price
when you do not heed. About 10 years ago, I gave up trying to resist
her -- I surrendered."
A
profound mid-life course correction, and the support of friends, family
and photographic mentors, gave her the motivation and confidence to
devote herself exclusively to her passion and she works full time as
a fine art photographer…living her dream.
Some of her favorite photographic subjects continue to include flowers,
landscapes, wildlife, the Sierra Nevada, the greater Yellowstone/ Tetons
Area and her favorite ghost town of Bodie in the Eastern Sierra.
"The
diversity in nature and the majesty of the Sierras and Tetons keep me
coming back for more. The simple beauty of a wildflower or the grandeur
of a mountain sunset, has continually filled me with wonder and awe. In
my photography, I try to share some of what I’ve experienced with
you," Nelcha said.

and corrections in Photoshop before making final prints. Nelcha does not
use colored filters, but rather prints to match the transparency. She
