Holidays at West Coast Imaging
West Coast Imaging will be closed for the following holidays:
Museo® Portfolio Rag™ combines an extra-smooth cotton
base with Crane's advanced coating, bringing you a paper that feels
luxurious and provides world-class image quality. Use Museo® Portfolio
Rag™ for your museum exhibition and portfolio prints, and
when you need exceptional tonal range on a surface that will not
detract from your photographic images.
Crafted
for professional use, Crane's 100% cotton base is pH-neutral,
acid free, and brightener free, which means your gallery-worthy
images will retain their bold colors and tonal subtleness for
generations. When you create prints using Museo® Portfolio Rag™ and
pigmented inks, you and your audiences will experience extraordinary
visual and tactile quality. The paper's substantial weight and
captivating look affirm you make no compromises in the creative
process.
We've
found that this paper makes prints of the same quality as Hahnemühle
Photo Rag 308, but has a much smoother surface. Pricing is the
same as our Watercolor Smooth paper.
West Coast Imaging is now offering prints made with Fuji Crystal Archive Pearl surface paper. Request
your free sample now!
What makes Fuji Pearl so special? The embedded pearl-like crystals gives the paper a high-gloss reflection, especially in the highlights. Pearl paper contains pearly mica crystals. Based on natural mica, they are covered with a thin layer of metal oxides, like titanium dioxide. Through an interplay of transparency, refraction, coating and multiple reflections, viewers can discern silver-white and metallic reflection effects. Fuji Pearl has a gloss surface and is exposed in our ZBE Chromira using ICC profiles for astounding accuracy. Color is very similar to other Fuji Crystal Archive papers.
Although similar to Kodak Metallic, Fuji Pearl has a whiter base that makes more brilliant prints, and more neutral B&W prints. It also offers a longer display life, better d-max, and more saturated blues, reds, and magentas. For these reasons, we will be offering Fuji Pearl instead of Kodak Metallic.

Carr
Clifton Exhibition at Mountain Light Gallery
View the works of Landscape
Photographer Carr Clifton at Mountain Light Gallery in Bishop,
California, through June 30, 2007. The exhibition features roughly
35 of Clifton's images, which he prints on his Epson 9800. West
Coast Imaging supplied all of the scans used to make these prints.
Clifton said West Coast Imaging's, "superior equipment and
the expertise of (our) staff" led him to use our studio
for his drum
scanning needs.
A large-format photographer, Clifton
has spent 25 years exploring and documenting the endangered,
wild landscapes most people will never know. An accomplished
wilderness guide and traveler, Clifton is widely recognized for
his distinctive and artistic landscapes of remote regions. He
has dedicated himself to his art which, he says "isn't
only framing the image in the camera, but getting myself to the
wildest places where I do my best work." Clifton's wilderness
skills have allowed him entrance into the solitude of some of the
world's most remote and least populated regions.
Learn more about Clifton on his website, and visit Mountain
Light's website for more information about the exhibition.

Featured
Artist - Dale Hoopingarner
When we first saw Dale Hoopingarner's
images come through our studio, we were struck by their exquisite
detail, beauty, and decidedly different look. Hoopingarner is
not a photographer in the traditional sense, using a camera to
capture his images. Instead, he uses an Epson 4490 digital scanner
to "scan" his subject matter:
flowers; leaves; and details of nature. The end result he calls
a "Scanograph."
Landscape
Photographer Bruce Jackson returns to the roots of his creative
inspiration and education with, "Spirit
Returns", a powerful solo show at the Rotunda Gallery in the
COCC Campus Library in Bend, Oregon. In 1970, during his first
year at COCC, Jackson learned the basics from local photography
legend and instructor, William Van Allen. ‘Spirit Returns’ offers
a stunning retrospective that mirrors Jackson’s complete
immersion into the natural world, and his creative self. The exhibition
runs through May 11, 2007. West Coast Imaging is pleased to assist
Jackson with many of his printing needs, using our Custom
Exhibition Print and Exhibition
Reprint services. To learn more about Jackson's
work, visit his website.
