Richard
Seiling entered photography at the historic intersections of a mature
analog process, and an immature but evolving digital process. He has pursued
both with great vigor. His experiences of working in traditional processes
like 4x5 Zone System printing, coupled with working in Photoshop since
version 2.0, has created a unique synergies and crossovers that bring
the best of the classic traditions of photography to the digital age.
In 1997,
Rich founded West Coast Imaging, a fine art digital printing studio dedicated
to making the finest photographic prints possible for photographers worldwide.
Through work with clients large and small, West Coast Imaging has created
a reputation for excellence that reflects
Rich's photographic values and traditions.
Rich has
a broad photographic background, including photojournalism, commercial
photography, and fine art photography--and close relationships with photographers
who explore the wide spectrum of the medium. He also served as the assistant
curator at The Ansel
Adams Gallery in Yosemite, California.
Rich spends
most of his time in Oakhurst, California, managing West Coast Imaging.
He can often be found photographing in nearby Yosemite National Park,
where he is currently working on an in-depth project that explores the
unique interrelations of light, weather, season, topography, and biology
of this unique park. Visit his website.
