Proofs:
Proofs are the key to making the most expressive prints. They allow a visual dialog between you and the person making your print, helping them fine tune your film or a digital file into a reflective print that communicates your vision. While not required, we highly recommend them. The proof price includes the time necessary to make most adjustments you might request. We price each proof based on the paper we are printing on.

Turnaround:
We work on a first-come, first-served basis with all orders at West Coast Imaging. Our reputation is built on giving each image our undivided attention, striving to make the best print possible. We work to complete each order as quickly as possible, without sacrificing quality. If you need it yesterday, we have RUSH services that come along with RUSH charges. Regular Exhibition Print orders generally take 15 to 20 business days in-house, but our workload changes daily, and may dictate a longer turnaround. If you are working on a deadline, even if it’s far in the future, please be sure to let us know, so we can work with you to meet your objectives. We always strive to meet your needs.

Film Specs
What's included with prints made from your film:

  • A drum scan on our Heidelberg Tango scanners. This scan is large enough to make prints of the size you order or smaller. If you would like to have the option of making larger prints in the future (scan once, purpose many) you need to order a larger Archive Scan at this time.

  • One of our highly trained printers will make creative adjustments to density, contrast, color balance, saturation, dodging and burning, and cropping, per your instructions. Removal of minor dust, scratches and other defects are included. We will consult with you if you send us film that has severe physical defects or if your needs go beyond what is included (it rarely does, but we're mentioning it, just in case!)

  • Proofs are made upon your request.

  • A final print to the size ordered on the paper you choose. We can customize the final print to meet your needs but our standard protocol is to print the image full frame with a 1/4 inch white border on the long side.

  • We archive the files at West Coast Imaging, allowing you to order reprints on demand without needing to send in your file again, and ensuring consistency from order to order.

Digital Camera Specs
What's included with prints made from your Digital Camera File:

  • We can make Exhibition Prints from any format file that can be read by the latest version of Photoshop. This includes most RAW formats, JPEG, and TIFF.

  • RAW files will be converted to a TIFF file at the full resolution of your camera by one of our highly trained printers. They will also make creative adjustments to density, contrast, color balance, saturation, dodging and burning, and cropping, per your instructions. Removal of minor dust, scratches and other defects are included. We will consult you if your original camera file has severe defects, or if your needs go beyond what is included (it rarely does, but we're mentioning it just in case!) Remember to keep your sensor clean!

About Our Pricing:
Reprint pricing is determined by the paper surface and ink you choose to print with, the size of your print, and how many prints you order. If you order multiple prints of the same image, in the same size, at the same time--you'll qualify for lower pricing.

Let's say you order four 16x20 prints of the SAME image. The first print would be billed at the 1st print price and the additional three would be billed at the 2-9 price. Now, let's say you order four 16x20 prints of four DIFFERENT images. In this case, each print would be billed at the first print price. This is because it take us more time to print four different photographs than it does to print the same photograph four times.

Turnaround:
We work on a first-come, first-served basis with all orders at West Coast Imaging. Reprints and Preflighted prints are given first priority by our imaging staff, and we work to complete each order as quickly as possible, without sacrificing quality. When we have prints with surface damage and other defects, we reprint them until we have a perfect print to send you. This adds time to each order. If you need it yesterday, we have RUSH services that come along with RUSH charges. Regular reprint orders generally take 5 to 7 business days in-house, but our workload may dictate a longer turnaround. If you are working on a deadline, even if it’s far in the future, please be sure to let us know so we can work with you to meet your objectives.
