Custom Giclée Printing
Fine Art reproductions of non-photographic artwork

Pricing - Paper Choices - Turnaround - Reprints

The giclée process allows artists working in non-photographic mediums like oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, pastel, and charcoal, to produce high quality short run reproductions of their original art. Giclée prints are made using state of the art inkjet printers with long lasting inks on a variety of media from canvas to cotton rag papers.

Digital Capture

The first step in the process is to digitize the original artwork. Many artists digitize their work before selling it. Doing this gives you the option to make a giclée at a later date without having to get the artwork back, and also gives you a file that can be used for your website and portfolio. Because of this, digital capture is billed separately from the actual giclée printing process.

Most artwork is digitized using a direct digital capture process that uses a 4x5 camera and high end digital back to produce a digital file of over 100 mb. The cost for this is $125 per original. We also have the ability to directly scan some artwork on our Tango Drum Scanner and Creo flatbed scanner, as well as scan copy transparencies. By consulting with our printing staff we can help you choose the right option for your work.

More extensive information on the capture and giclée
process can be found in our artwork scanning guide.

Making the First Print
Once you decide to make a giclée of your artwork, one of our expert printmakers will take the digital file and work with you to make a reproduction that captures the beauty and intent of the original work. After working on the digital capture, they will make a proof so that you can see how your giclée print will look. Proofs allow for a visual dialog between you and the printer as you make creative adjustments to your gicl
ée reproduction. The first proof is included in the price of your giclée print. Additional proofs are priced at $25 each and include a small amount of time for making adjustments. Some complex adjustments may require an additional charge, and you will be advised if this is necessary. Once you have approved your proof, we'll make the first print which is also included in the price of the initial printing. We archive all files for your giclée at our studio so that you can order a reprint at any time in the future.

The price for your initial giclée print is determined by the size of the print, and includes a 8x10 proof, custom color correction, and one final full size print on any of our Favorite Paper Combinations. For custom sizes including panoramic and square please contact us for a custom quote.

Turnaround:

We work to complete each order as quickly as possible, without sacrificing quality. Because making a great giclée reproduction requires hands on attention from our expert printmakers, it generally takes from 15 to 20 business days in house, but our workload may dictate a longer turnaround. If you need to have your prints completed by a specific date, please let our staff know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. We reserve the right to charge RUSH fees for RUSH orders when necessary.
