The amazing depth comes from the process of bonding the face of your photograph to an 1/8 inch sheet of clear acrylic, which gives it the equivalent of a 1/8 inch gloss coating. With a clear optical glue, the face of the photograph is literally bonded to the acrylic to create a seamless appearance.

How do face mount proofs differ from our final face mount pieces? A ready-to-hang face mount piece has the acrylic bonded to a dibond backing. The edges are routed to create a professional finish, and an aluminum sub frame is added for hanging. These finishing touches cost money...so to keep proofs economical, we leave off the backing. The edges are saw cut and a little rough, and we don't add a subframe. We also accept dust and air bubbles on a proof that would not be acceptable on a final piece meant for display.
